Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced two grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Program to help provide individuals and families with advice and information on housing issues. The goal is to improve financial literacy, expand homeownership opportunities, prevent foreclosure, and improve access to affordable housing. Through this program, the Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy has been awarded a $13,071 grant, and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Development in Perth Amboy has been awarded a $12,323 grant

The grant will be used to develop a plan to transform the area’s existing blighted homes and buildings into cleaner and safer structures that will attract new businesses and residents.

TOMS RIVER, NJ - January 15, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York announced today the award of a $442,500 grant to Project Freedom, Inc. to help finance the Freedom Village at Toms River project, which will construct a 72-unit affordable rental housing community on 10 acres of land in Toms River. Investors Bank, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, submitted the application for the funding.

TRENTON - December 11, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) today announced the awards of more than $6 million in Small Cities Block Grants to municipalities in New Jersey.
