GENEVA, NY – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Tom Reed announced that the Geneva Housing Authority has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant is funded through HUD’s Capital Fund Emergency Safety and Security Program to support local housing authorities as they address safety and security issues.

“It is vital to make sure that all members our community have access to housing that is not only affordable, but also safe and secure,” Reed said. “This grant will help the Geneva Housing Authority by providing much needed funds as they work to accomplish this important task.”

The grants were awarded to agencies in 15 states. The funds may be used to install, repair, or replace items like security systems, fencing, lighting systems, deadbolt locks, doors and other security related equipment.
