New Jersey Apartment Association Offers September Education Programs
MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J., – August 19, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — The New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) will host two educational programs in September designed to help industry professionals gain knowledge and elevate their skills. NJAA offers a diverse selection of comprehensive education and certification courses throughout the year for members and non-members as part of its commitment to advancing the multi-family housing industry in New Jersey.
The following programs are open to NJAA members and the public:
Wed., Sept. 10: Understanding Credit Scoring & Reporting. Presented by Jamie Borodin, National Tenant Network. Learn how credit and public record court information is used to assess rental risk and resident selection, and how scoring affects whether individuals qualify for credit and the credit terms they are offered. 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; 9 a.m. breakfast. Free for NJAA members; $75 for non-members.
Tues., Sept. 16: Evictions and Fair Housing: What You Need to Know. Presented by Tracey Goldstein, Esq. and Gary Gordon, Esq., Feinstein, Raiss, Kelin & Booker, L.L.C. This program will demonstrate how everyday situations require critical thinking and prudent decision-making, and deliver relevant knowledge of fair housing as it pertains to evictions. Issues discussed will include grounds for eviction under the law, an in-depth review of the eviction process, and understanding reasonable accommodations. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.; 8:30 a.m. breakfast. NJAA members earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs) towards National Apartment Association Designations (NAA) at each session they attend.
