Husband and Wife Duo Bring High Sales Volume, Talent to New Gloria Nilson REALTORS® Bay Head Office

Prior to joining Gloria Nilson REALTORS, Karen had established herself in the real estate industry in Bay Head back in 1996. She was ranked a top producer for her previous real estate firm from 2000 through 2004.
Specializing in the Bay Head and Mantoloking market, and having sold homes in Lavallette, Normandy Beach, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach and Spring Lake, Karen has handled countless residential transactions, and says her largest single sale topped $8 million. The couple’s most recent success was a Bay Head ocean-front single family home listed for $6.2 million that went under contract in less than 60 days and closed for $5.8 million.
Richard, who calls his wife the brains behind their successful real estate partnership, began his financial career as an investment banker in public finance and led a New York City agency for 12 years. He underwrote for sizable public finance projects including the New Jersey
Turnpike, Ocean County Utilities Authority and Monmouth County Improvement Authority along with many others. As a Summit, N.J., native, he spent his childhood summers in Bay Head and says he has always thought of the area as his home.
After Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, Richard left his investment banker career and the couple decided to combine their efforts in pursuing a real estate practice.
“Karen has a tremendous knack or talent for this type of work, and she continues to drive the growth of her book of business,” Richard explained. “By teaming up as we did more than a decade ago, we get to spend more time together and I can support my wife, and learn from her, in a business she truly loves.”
Making their home in Bay Head, this active couple has raised four children and can be found playing tennis or sailing with the Bay Head Yacht Club. To-date, the Hewson team has collectively closed shore property transactions valued at more than $200 million.
