ANGELINI: DEMS AGAIN FAIL TO POST PROPERTY TAX REFORM BILLS; INSTEAD WILL DEBATE HOW TO DESTROY TOBACCO CONTRABAND
October 13, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, R-Monmouth, issued the following statement regarding the October 14, 2010 Assembly Committee schedule which again does not include any property tax reform Tool Kit legislation:
“Assembly Democrat leadership apparently has a problem setting priorities as once again the Speaker has failed to post any of Governor Christie’s property tax reform bills on its Thursday schedule. We are not discounting the value of the bills that will be heard this week, rather, we continue to take issue with the fact that Democrats are continuing to road block this urgent reform that clearly is the top priority for our taxpayers, local government officials and business community.
“Since May, this urgent Tool Kit legislation has been languishing in limbo while Democrats have wasted time with other hearings in which they accomplished nothing for our taxpayers. They merely revisited old business in an effort to undermine the governor and his reform efforts. Instead of having an open bipartisan discussion and vote on property tax reform bills on Thursday, Democrats will debate how to destroy tobacco contraband (A-3102). Certainly such discussion can wait. This is absolutely unacceptable.”
Angelini serves on the Assembly Human Services Committee which is meeting Thursday, October 14, 2010.
