The Christie Administration today announced that the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA), an affiliate of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS), has received $5,099,229 in rental assistance funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

CAMDEN, N.J. - April 4, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Lori Grifa today announced that the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) is partnering with the City of Camden and a host of government, nonprofit and private organizations to launch a new home rehabilitation program for eligible Camden homeowners. The Camden Program Offering Widespread Energy Recovery (POWER) Residential initiative will provide up to $16,000 in financial assistance per household for essential home repairs and energy efficiency improvements. The announcement took place at Cramer Hill Community Center in Camden.

POMPTON PLAINS, N.J. - December 8, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representatives from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) joined local officials today to celebrate the grand opening of Evans Place, an affordable supportive housing community for individuals with special needs. The HMFA, an affiliate of the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), provided $2.4 million in construction and permanent financing from the Special Needs Housing Trust Fund.

NEPTUNE CITY, N.J. - December 1, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representatives from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) joined local officials today to celebrate the grand opening of Hamilton Supportive Housing, an affordable housing residence for individuals with special needs. The HMFA, an affiliate of the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), provided $556,000 in construction and permanent financing for the project from the Special Needs Housing Trust Fund. An additional $41,000 in construction and permanent financing came from the New Jersey Community Housing Partnership Program.

SOMERDALE, N.J. - December 1, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representatives from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) joined local officials today to break ground on Gateway Village, an affordable apartment community for families located in Somerdale, Camden County. The HMFA, an affiliate of the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), provided permanent mortgage financing in the amount of $352,000 for the project. Gateway Village was also awarded federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits, which will generate approximately $4.4 million in private equity. In addition, approximately $1 million in funding came from DCA’s Balanced Housing Program.

Marchetta today joined local officials to dedicate 55 Harvey at Providence Square, a 53-unit affordable senior housing community located in New Brunswick’s Transit Village area. FRANKLIN TWP., N.J. - November 11, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representatives of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA), an affiliate of the Department of Community Affairs, today joined local officials to celebrate the kickoff of Parkside Senior and Parkside Family, two projects that will provide 140 units of affordable housing to people in the community. Construction has started on both projects with an anticipated completion date of 2011 for Parkside Senior and 2012 for Parkside Family.

MEDFORD TWP., N.J. - October 26, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representatives from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) today joined local officials to celebrate the completion of 36-unit affordable senior apartments. Medford Senior Housing is a housing development located at 8 Jones Road in Medford Township. The HMFA, an affiliate of the Department of Community Affairs, provided the mortgage and tax credit funding for the project.
