Pallone Applauds Successful Interior Department Lease Sale for Wind Energy Development Off of New...
The New Jersey Wind Energy Area’s 343,833 offshore acres has the potential to support at least 3,400 megawatts of commercial wind energy generation. According to the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, this could power an estimated 1.2 million homes. The development area starts about seven nautical miles from shore.
Pallone Commends HUD Decision Not to Force NJ Residents to Pay Back Disaster Recovery...
Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) commended the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) decision not to require the State of New Jersey to recoup duplication of disaster recovery benefits up to $20,000 from residents. For those who receive more than $20,000, HUD will require the State of New Jersey to prove that the additional Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds are duplicative of other federal funds and, if so, the state must then decide if they wish to pursue repayment.
Pallone Statement on Christie Attempt to Get Out of Clean Power Plan
Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, condemned the Christie Administration’s request for a stay of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan. The Plan, the final version of which was announced earlier this month, establishes emission guidelines for states to follow in developing plans to control carbon pollution from existing power plants.

Pallone Announces $50 Million to Boost Economic Growth in Low-Income New Jersey Communities
Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced a $50 million award for tax credits from the U.S. Treasury Department to New Jersey Community Capital, which is located in New Brunswick. The funds, which will be used by New Jersey Community Capital to award tax credits to investors in projects, are aimed at stimulating economic growth in low-income urban neighborhoods and rural communities.

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined his New Jersey colleagues, U.S. Reps. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (NJ-09), Albio Sires (NJ-08) and Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), in urging Governor Christie to revise the outdated NJ Statewide Water Supply Master Plan (NJSWSP), the planning mechanism by which New Jersey approaches management of its water needs. The last major reconsideration of the plan was adopted in 1996 under Governor Christine Todd Whitman.
Pallone Announces Two Grants to Perth Amboy Organizations for Housing Counseling
Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced two grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Program to help provide individuals and families with advice and information on housing issues. The goal is to improve financial literacy, expand homeownership opportunities, prevent foreclosure, and improve access to affordable housing. Through this program, the Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy has been awarded a $13,071 grant, and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Development in Perth Amboy has been awarded a $12,323 grant
