RUMANA STATEMENT ON SEN. O’TOOLE’S FINAL TERM ANNOUNCEMENT

-

Washington, D.C. – January 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Assemblyman Scott Rumana released the following statement regarding State Senator Kevin O’Toole’s announcement that he will be retiring from the State Senate:

“Through his 29 years of dedicated leadership, Senator O’Toole has had an indelible impact on the residents of his community, our district and the entire state of New Jersey. Since he answered the call of public service at the age of 24, Senator O’Toole has tirelessly fought to make government more accountable, transparent and efficient while providing more opportunities for every resident to thrive in our state.

“In the State Senate, he has molded our courts to be fair and fought against judicial overreach by appointing highly qualified judges to the bench. As a long-time member of both the Assembly and Senate budget committees, Senator O’Toole was an unwavering defender of taxpayers and helped shape bi-partisan support for responsible budgets that held the line on taxes while providing additional funding for our children, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities.

“In an age where far too many politicians fall prey to partisan gridlock, Senator O’Toole built bridges between both parties to cap property taxes, save billions through pension and benefit reform and protect our residents by enhancing penalties for child predators and domestic violence offenders.

“Above all, Kevin is a sterling example of what can be accomplished when we share a dedication for a brighter future for our state and work together to build consensus. I am proud to call him a friend and can’t thank him enough for his dedicated service to our state. It was an honor to partner with him in serving our district and have become a better leader thanks to his advice and guidance over the years. I sincerely wish him the best of luck as he begins the next chapter of his career.”
