Pallone Announces $5.23 Million to Improve Public Housing Developments in New Jersey’s 6th District
WASHINGTON, DC – February 13, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) located in New Jersey’s 6th District will receive a total of over $5.23 million to make improvements to public housing developments.
The funding, which is awarded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Capital Fund Program, provides assistance to PHAs to modernize public housing developments and to make management improvements. Twelve Housing Authorities throughout the 6th District, in both Middlesex and Monmouth counties, will receive funding.
“This funding will help to revitalize public housing developments throughout our District,” said Congressman Pallone. “It will allow our local Housing Authorities to make necessary improvements and provide modern and affordable housing to residents. The improvements will have a tremendous impact on the community and I want to thank HUD for making these investments in New Jersey’s 6th District.”
In New Jersey’s 6th District, the recipients of the 2015 Capital Fund Program awards include the Housing Authorities of Asbury Park, Carteret, Edison, Highland Park, Highlands, Middletown, Keansburg, Long Branch, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, South Amboy, and Woodbridge.
This funding is provided by HUD’s Office of Public Housing Investments, which provides funds annually to approximately 3,100 PHAs across the country through the Capital Fund Program.
