Christie Administration Seeks To Shift Federal Funds To Sandy Recovery Housing Programs
Trenton, NJ - November 7, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Christie Administration today announced the state’s request to amend the current New Jersey Disaster Recovery Action Plan to allocate additional federal funds to two Superstorm Sandy housing recovery programs and also to set aside funds for a program to demolish unsafe structures. If approved, the Action Plan amendment would enable thousands of additional Sandy-impacted homeowners to receive federal resources to assist them in their recovery effort.

New York, N.Y. - October 31, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has finalized its plan to clean up soil contaminated with trichloroethylene and other volatile organic compounds at the Ellis Property Superfund site in Evesham Township, New Jersey. The contaminated soil is polluting ground water underlying the site. The ground water is not currently being used as a source of drinking water, but ground water at the site has been used in the past for drinking water and for irrigation of farmland nearby. Exposure to trichloroethylene and other volatile organic compounds can have serious health impacts, including liver damage and increased risk of cancer.
