Community Leaders, Realtor Volunteers Lend Support
Edison, N.J. – October 3, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — New Jersey REALTORS® joined forces on September 25 to help a diverse group of homeowners in the Garden State for the second annual REALTORS® Care Day. This was an all-day, home repair initiative for REALTOR® volunteers, sponsored by the North Central Jersey Association of REALTORS®and New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Foundation, Inc.

Armed with an array of building materials and a philanthropic spirit, over 50 REALTOR® volunteers came out to assist homeowners in East Orange and Maplewood, N.J. with necessary, but often unaffordable, exterior home repairs.
“As REALTORS®, we work hard to help make homeownership dreams come true,” said NJARHOF President Christina P. Clemans. “It was an honor for the Foundation to be able to support and participate as we worked alongside the homeowners to help them maintain and enhance their homes.”
Members of the NCJAR Presidential Advisory Group played an active role in this second-annual event. Those members include Janen Ardia, Michael Brand, Michael Pennisi, John Varriano and Wendy Worthy.
Ilene Horowitz, who serves as the 2013 NCJAR President, added, “The goal of this project is to create a collaborative, community-wide initiative that brings people together and offers a helping hand to our neighbors, many of whom are still struggling. On behalf of NCJAR, I am privileged to take part in this community-wide initiative.”

REALTORS® Care Day was initiated by NJARHOF as an extension of its commitment to affordable, fair and safe housing, and to provide an opportunity for REALTORS® to give back to local communities throughout the Garden State.

The foundation is dedicated to funding, education, advocacy and leadership programs that are focused on fair and affordable housing and workforce-housing initiatives. The foundation serves to position and educate REALTORS® as leaders, promote homeownership and provide funding to create housing opportunities.
