Cushman & Wakefield Promotes Two New Jersey Brokers to Director
David DeMatteis, Jon Williams Cited for Enthusiasm, Commitment and Drive
EAST RUTHERFORD/MORRISTOWN, N.J. – May 28, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. has promoted two brokerage professionals to the position of director, announced Gualberto “Gil” Medina, the company’s New Jersey executive managing director. David DeMatteis of Montclair, N.J., and Jon Williams of Morristown, N.J., are based at the commercial real estate services firm’s East Rutherford and Morristown offices, respectively.
DeMatteis joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2001 as a tenant representation specialist. His work has included portfolio assignments for a national insurance company, The LIM/Berry Company, Vital Signs and The AICPA. He recently negotiated transactions for Samsung Electronics, MWW Public Relations and HCL America. As a landlord representative, he serves as exclusive leasing agent for Onyx Equities’ 30 Montgomery Street in Jersey City and Hartz Mountain Real Estate’s 65 Challenger Road in Ridgefield Park. Additionally, he has acted as exclusive agent for The LeFrak organization on several properties at Newport Center in Jersey City.
DeMatteis earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Columbia University and a master’s certificate in real estate finance from New York University. DeMatteis is a licensed New Jersey Salesperson. He has served for the past nine years on the Montclair Kimberly Academy alumni board, and currently serves on the executive board of IOREBA and on the board of the Columbia Club of New Jersey.
Williams is also a tenant representation specialist. His clients include ADP Statewide Insurance, Cherryroad Technologies, Eclipse Marketing Services, Emergency Medical Associates and Fazio Mannuzza, among others. Since joining Cushman & Wakefield, he consistently has been a top producer for his peer group, which earned him inclusion in Cushman & Wakefield’s Emerging Broker Training Program (EBT). The firm selected 50 young brokers from North America to study future trends, challenges and developments occurring within the commercial real estate marketplace.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2007, Williams worked with Weichert Commercial Brokerage. He started his career in construction for InterState Electrical Contracting. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Villanova University. He currently serves as the co-founder and President of the Villanova Morris/Somerset Alumni Association. A three-year-starting goalkeeper for the university’s men’s soccer team, Williams remains part of that program as a member of its board of directors. He has also studied at New York University’s Real Estate School.
“David’s and Jon’s progress during the past few challenging years for the real estate industry not only reflects an admirable level of achievement but also shows strong potential moving forward,” Medina said. “These two young professionals are prime examples of the talent that Cushman & Wakefield is ‘growing’ in house. They illustrate the enthusiasm, commitment and drive toward knowledge that it takes to excel in this highly competitive industry. Their promotions are well deserved.”
