Builders Look Ahead, Prepare for Better Days

Robbinsville, NJ – February 26, 2008 – (RealEstateRama) — Looking ahead and preparing for the eventual economic recovery, preparations continue for the largest and most successful building industry trade show in the Northeast. The Atlantic Builders Convention (ABC) and trade show – now in its 60th year – is being held April 22-24, 2009 in Atlantic City, NJ. The event will feature 700 exhibits and draw 12,000 participants from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for three days of networking, education, professional development, and marketing opportunities at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

This year’s emphasis is on green building products and services, reflecting both industry and consumer trends, as well as business and economic tools to survive these difficult times and be best-positioned to thrive, moving forward. The exhibit floor will be more active and informative than ever, the educational sessions feature a variety of instructive and enlightening topics by renowned presenters, and the various events offer tremendous networking opportunities.

“To say that these are challenging times is an understatement. Our industry is facing the sharpest decline in half a century, and market conditions not seen in decades,” acknowledged Stephen A. Patron, NJBA President. Patron continued, “The home building industry will be the engine that helps lead us out of this recession, just as it has in past economic cycles.”

According to ABC Committee Chair, Jeanne Tomlinson, “With challenges comes opportunity. At the ABC, attendees and exhibitors will see new products and services, and receive valuable insight and information that will help sustain them through these tough economic times so that they can prosper when the market recovers.”

“Like other small to medium businesses, we are facing tough decisions sometimes requiring sacrifices as we assess how to effectively expend our time and resources,” shared Ohan Najarian of Najarian Associates, the Eatontown, NJ-based consulting engineering firm and NJBA Master Sponsor. “I believe that a company’s sustainability is determined by its ability to remain flexible and take advantage of opportunities such as the Atlantic Builders Convention, and I am proud to say we are one of those companies. I remain optimistic that as a strong community, we can voice a unified opinion and invoke real changes to help get us all – and the economy – back on track.”

Recognizing that builders and associated professionals are evaluating and scrutinizing their marketing budgets and determining their level of participation in any number of trade shows, the ABC has responded by offering recession-buster five foot by ten foot “mini booths” for companies pinched by the economy but that would still like to have a presence at the well-regarded trade show and convention.

Beyond the exhibits, there are a number of unique and cost-effective marketing and advertising opportunities within the ABC – including the Sales and Marketing (SAM) Awards program – for those who choose to differentiate themselves from the competition and dare to “think outside the booth”.

Patron concluded, “Now more than ever, I strongly encourage builders and associates to be active and engaged in the Atlantic Builders Convention – where the opportunities are without limit and where your investment of time and resources can produce real and tangible benefits.”
