Hamilton, NJ – June 11, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA), the voice of New Jersey’s building industry, is pleased to announce that it is hosting a seminar entitled “Financing the Sandy Rebuild” on Tuesday, June 18 at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune, NJ. Registration is at 9:00 AM with the seminar beginning at 9:30 AM.
The keynote speaker will be Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Richard Constable, III who will discuss the State financial assistance programs funded under the Sandy Relief Plan. Two federally funded programs included in the plan – the $600 million Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Elevation and Mitigation (RREM) Program and $180 million Resettlement Program will be discussed. Information on how to become a DCA Qualify Contractor will also be provided.
“DCA is now accepting applications from homeowners for the $150,000 grants available under the RREM Program to repair, elevate or rebuild primary residences in the communities affected by Superstorm Sandy,” states Robert J. Fallone, President of NJBA. “They are also taking applications from contractors who are interested in being qualified to work on the projects funded by RREM. Our goal in having this seminar is to advise the public on what they need to do to participate in RREM and the Resettlement Program.”
In addition, a panel of leading finance and tax experts will present information on public and private financing options, as well as the tax issues surrounding repairing, elevating and rebuilding projects.. Panel participants will include:
