NJBA CEO Timothy Touhey Included on NJBIZ’s Power 100 List of the Most Powerful People in New Jersey Business
Hamilton, NJ – January 31, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA), the voice of New Jersey’s building industry, is pleased to announce that Timothy J. Touhey, its Chief Executive Officer has been included on NJBIZ’s Power 100 list of the most powerful people in business in New Jersey. Touhey is ranked 74 on the list this year. In 2012, he was ranked 80.
As stated in NJBIZ: “Adding another two years to the Permit Extension Act was a feather in Touhey’s cap last year, one he fought environmentalists hard to win. He can “come up with creative policy initiatives to move forward real estate development,” a source says, and he brokers peace between developers and affordable housing advocates.”
“New Jersey’s economy is dependent on the construction industry. The extension of the Permit Extension Act is critical to boosting construction,” states Touhey. “NJBA works closely with Trenton to enact legislation to improve the construction industry and New Jersey’s economy. I am honored that NJBIZ has recognized my work and the work of NJBA, its elected officers and staff.”
Touhey is well-known for his market insight and ability to move initiatives forward. He has helped NJBA develop strong relationships with key state agencies and legislators to give the Association and its members a voice in Trenton. Under his direction, NJBA has been successful in lobbying for numerous pro-growth initiatives.
