Morris County Improvement Authority to Hold Special Meetings With Schools and Local Officials

January 14, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The Morris County Improvement Authority (MCIA) is holding two informational meetings, one for school officials and another for local government officials, on
Wednesday, Jan. 16.

School district superintendents and school business administrators have been invited to a breakfast at the Morris County Library to learn about the programs and services offered by the Improvement Authority that may benefit their districts.

In addition, school officials will hear from the county’s health officer, Carlos Perez,
of the Office of Health Management, who will provide them with a situational update on the impact this year’s flu season is having on Morris County and information about precautionary measures their districts can take.

In the evening, the Improvement Authority will detail its programs to Morris County mayors, deputy mayors, business administrators and chief financial officers who have been invited to an informal meeting at 6 p.m. in the Administration & Records Building in Morristown.

Improvement Authority presentations will include information about the prospect of a potential 2013 Pooled Bond Program to permanently finance short-term obligations, unfunded ordinances, new capital projects and refunding bonds for Morris County municipalities and school districts be they super storm Sandy related or otherwise; and updates on the Authority’s Guaranteed Leasing Program, which is designed to provide easy and fast access to low cost, tax exempt leasing; and the Authority’s various renewable energy program initiatives.
