HADDON HEIGHTS, NJ – February 18, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Andrews Announced that the Gloucester County and Camden City housing authorities will receive over $83,000 in federal funds to help put people in South Jersey back to work.

Awarded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Family Self-Sufficiency program, these grants are designed to help struggling families find work and become financially independent. The funds are typically used to provide job training or college tuition assistance so enrollees can obtain the skills needed to compete in our competitive workforce. The program’s mission is to ultimately prepare newly hired employees for home ownership by giving them the tools needed to find a job so they can build a savings, establish good credit over time, and provide for their families.

“To reignite our economy, we must build a stronger middle class,” said Rep. Rob Andrews. “This program helps out of work families get on their feet and stimulate the economy by developing the skills needed to find a job and save toward homeownership.”
