Christie Administration Continues Season of Service as DCA Commissioner Constable Helps Restore Sandy-Damaged Home in Ocean Count

Joins Jersey Cares Volunteers to Paint Toms River Home Impacted by Superstorm Sandy

Toms River, NJ – December 16, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — As part of the Christie Administration’s third annual “Season of Service,” New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III spent half a day painting the inside of a Sandy-impacted resident’s home in Toms River, Ocean County. The home restoration volunteer project was organized through Jersey Cares, a Newark-based nonprofit organization committed to increasing civic engagement in New Jersey by coordinating volunteer opportunities to address community needs.

“Jersey Cares is a remarkable organization whose two decades of experience in recruiting and engaging volunteers in worthwhile community projects became a critical asset in the aftermath of Sandy,” Commissioner Constable said. “It was a pleasure to join Jersey Cares volunteers in helping to paint the home of a Sandy-impacted resident who, through strength and determination, has recently been able to return home.”

Commissioner Constable volunteered with Jersey Cares today as part of Season of Service activities. Throughout December the Christie Administration is volunteering in a variety of ways to serve New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents as well as families and communities recovering from Superstorm Sandy.
