-

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — Toms River, New Jersey—Congressman Tom MacArthur released the following statement on the Puerto Rican governor’s decision to increase minimum wage for Puerto Rican construction workers and require the use of project labor agreements in governemnt-funded constuction projects:

“As a Member of the bipartisan Puerto Rico Growth Commission, I was encouraged by the news that the governor of Puerto Rico increased the minimum wage for construction workers on the island and required the use of project labor agreements in government-funded construction projects. I have long-advocated for this, alongside the leadership of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) – particularly VP Ray Pocino – who always delivers for the hardworking men and women of LiUNA. This decision by Puerto Rico will ensure that rebuilding efforts are completed safely by skilled, local labor.”
