WASHINGTON, DC – (RealEstateRama) — The Morris County Board of Freeholders has unanimously endorsed legislation proposed by state Sen. Anthony Bucco and Assembly Members Michael Carroll, Anthony Bucco Jr. and BettyLou DeCroce to allow parents to have free choice in choosing the education for their children.

By a 7-0 vote, the county governing board passed a resolution supporting bills S-1209 and A-1232, stating that open competition and free enterprise when it comes to education can result in the best and lowest priced educational product.

“The most important products of any society are the generations of young children it creates,’’ the freeholders stated in the resolution. “The education of future generations of young Americans is the most important element of their success as individuals and of America’s future as a nation.

“Free choice in the selection of a school and curriculum and teachers is a key component in the effectiveness of that education,’’ said Deputy Freeholder Director Hank Lyon, who strongly supported the measure.

According to the pending legislation, any revenues generated by choices made under this program would be used to reduce to reduce property taxes and enhance education.

The freeholders urged adoption of the bill by the Legislature and support by Gov. Chris Christie.
