Awards to Recognize REALTORS®‘ Community Involvement

Edison, NJ – June 30, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) – The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®) is currently seeking nominations of REALTORS® who have acted as “good neighbors” through their dedication to community service. The NJAR® Good Neighbor Awards recognize REALTORS® who do more than help others buy and sell real estate in their community; they help by volunteering for charitable organizations.

“It is customary for REALTORS® to easily share with others their knowledge of the industry and local real estate market,” said NJAR® 2009 President Diane Dilzell. “However, when it comes to expressing one’s achievements concerning issues that matter to them most, such as homelessness, animal rights, domestic violence or others, it can be difficult. That is why anyone can nominate a REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® who goes above and beyond in their community involvement.”

Anyone who has been affected by the actions of a REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® can submit a nomination on their behalf at www.njar.com/awards/gn/2009GNApp.doc.

Winners will receive a grant for their charity organization of choice in the amount of $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second, or $1,000 for third place. Winners also receive recognition during an awards ceremony at the 2009 Triple Play REALTOR® Convention & Trade Expo in Atlantic City, December 8-10, 2009. Additionally, winners will be recognized in the January/February issue of New Jersey REALTOR® magazine and be featured on NJAR®‘s website, www.njar.com.

“REALTORS® continually give so much to their communities,” Dilzell added. “Through this award, NJAR® aims to recognize the personal contributions and commitments of various members to their charities.”

All NJAR® Good Neighbor Award entries must be received by September 14, 2009. Nominations should include published reports about the nominee’s community work and/or testimonials from organizations he/she served. In order to be eligible, an applicant’s community service must have been conducted, started or completed between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009, and applicants must be members of the Association in good standing. All entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges who have no affiliation to NJAR®.
