MAYORS WILL UNITE TO FIGHT UNFUNDED MANDATE AND SUPPORT PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR ALL

-

Trenton, NJ – August 30, 2008 – (RealEstateRama) — Battling against State Budget policies that will force property tax increases in towns throughout rural New Jersey, the League of Municipalities will host a summit meeting to discuss the problem and all possible solutions. We invite the Press to join local elected officials and leading legislative property tax relief advocates, who will gather:

Thursday, September 4, 2008
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Room 202
Brower Student Center
The College of New Jersey
2000 Pennington Road
Ewing Township

At that time, over 100 local elected officials will be briefed on our efforts to prevent the State from forcing communities throughout rural New Jersey to raise property taxes, in order to finance certain State Police activities. Also, State Senator Jeff VanDrew and Assembly members Marcia Karrow and Nelson Albano will explain their efforts to earmark non-property tax revenues for the State Police, and to provide new relief to property taxpayers in urban and suburban, as well as rural towns.

Additional detail will be provided early next week.
