January 16, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Morris County’s Department of Human Services will be one of many participants this week in Operation Stand Down Morristown, a two-day event supporting needy and homeless veterans and their families.

The event, which will be held Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Morristown National Guard Armory, 430 Western Ave. in Morristown, is being produced and administered by NJ Fallen Soldiers Foundation, Community Hope and the Morris County Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Organizers of Operation Stand Down Morristown said the event will offer a wide variety of resources to help meet the unique needs of transitioning veterans and their families.

The event will provide homeless veterans with meals, clothing and access to medical and mental health services, shelter and other community resources, according to event sponsors.

Among the county government agencies planning to participate are the Office of Temporary Assistance, the Veterans Services Office and Employment and Training Services.
