CCM Foundation Golf Outing to Support Services for Military Veterans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 14, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — In less than a month, the County College of Morris (CCM) Foundation will host its annual golf outing fundraiser at a new venue and will add a new beneficiary.

The picturesque Rockaway River Country Club in Denville will host the event on Monday, September 28.

This year, half of all proceeds will be dedicated to a new fund at the college supporting U.S. military veteran students and their families.

Half of the net proceeds will be dedicated to the new CCM Fund for Veterans and Families. The fund will allow CCM veteran students and/or their dependents to apply for non-academic assistance such as housing expenses, day-care and wellness support.

“Our population of U.S. military veteran students has been growing,” said Joseph Vitale, president of the CCM Foundation. “This new fund allows us to help them with expenses that are not covered under the new GI Bill. This year’s outing will help get that fund off the ground.”

Founded in 1915 and designed by Devereaux Emmet, Rockaway River’s 6,561, par 72 course is considered one of the most beautiful in northwestern New Jersey.

Emmet’s courses include the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD, and Bethpage in New York.

“We’re thrilled to be able to move our event to one of our area’s most prestigious courses,” said Joseph Vitale, president of the CCM Foundation.

“Players will find it challenging but fair. There are many golfers who have always wanted to play Rockaway River. Now they’ll have the chance,” he added.

The day begins with registration and lunch at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Modified scramble rules will be in play and awards will be presented for both men’s and women’s low gross and low net.

In addition, the outing will offer the sixth annual Corporate Challenge in which corporations and organizations compete for a separate prize. Last year’s winners include New Jersey Natural Gas (low gross) and Solix Inc. (low net).

The outing also will offer participants the chance to compete for hole-in-one prizes, trips and cars. In addition, presenting sponsors will have the opportunity to add a U.S. military veteran to their foursomes.

Corporate foursomes, sponsorships and individual players are being sought. For more information, please call 973-328-5060 or visit www.ccm.edu/foundation/golf2015.
