In conjunction with PHC, a Point-in-Time (PIT) survey is administered by agencies throughout the county. A count of homeless individuals in Bergen County will be taken for a snapshot of the number of people struggling without housing. Nearly 200 of the county’s homeless received information and assistance at the 2013 Project Homeless Connect event at the Housing, Health and Human Services Center on South River Street.

Donated gift cards, warm clothing, personal hygiene items and socks are distributed to the participants. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served.

County Executive Donovan explained that the data collected through the PIT survey assists with program planning and development to bring Bergen County closer to the goal of ending homelessness.

The press is invited to attend the event.
