NJCDC Kicks Off New Program Making Home Repairs for Paterson’s Elderly and Disabled

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama)
Wednesday, December 21st, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

WHAT:
With the Christmas spirit permeating through its organizational fabric, NJCDC will host a kick-off event for their newest program that serves elderly and disabled Paterson residents. Over the next 12 months, NJCDC’s FreePair Paterson program will make 500 home repairs—free of service charges—for the elderly and disabled residents of Paterson.

It is the very people that are going to complete these home repairs that make this program truly special. The home repairs will be completed by members of NJCDC’s YouthBuild program—youth ages 16-24 who have dropped out of high school. The students will work under the strict guidance of the Construction Supervisor and have a chance to earn an industry-recognized construction trade certificate—all while working towards their GED.

The FreePair program will make its very first repairs at the site of the kick-off event directly after a brief ceremony.

The FreePair Program is funded by Impact 100 Garden State.

WHEN:
Wednesday, December 21st, 11am-12pm

WHERE:
54 Front St
Paterson, NJ 07522

WHO:
FreePair Paterson students and staff, NJCDC staff, Paterson homeowners, and local dignitaries

WHY:
This time of year, everyone deserves a safe place to call home. With the commencement of the FreePair Paterson program, NJCDC will make 500 home repairs for the elderly and disabled residents of Paterson—building on the $72 million NJCDC has already invested in the community.
