WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The Township of Teaneck has recently sampled water supply fixtures located on Municipal properties, including the Police and Fire Departments, Municipal Building Complex, Department of Public Works Yard, Public Library, the Richard Rodda Center and Votee Park water fountains. This function was performed by the Health Department to ensure that residents and employees are being provided with lead-safe water at Township facilities.
(39) locations have been sampled and analyzed, with (4) samples being repeat or follow-up samples. Of these (39) locations, all were found to be lead-safe under the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection standard, except two fixtures. Of the two sample locations that did not initially comply with State standards, one was a water fountain in the lower level of the Old Municipal Building that was removed. The other sample was within the Environmental Protection Agency’s standard of 20ppb, but was outside the threshold for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s more stringent standard of 15ppb. This supply fixture was the kitchenette sink in the lower level of the Public Library. This location has since been remediated to within acceptable standards by methods of changing plumbing supply equipment & installing a filter on the fixture.
