Businesses Large and Small Compete for “Fast Company” Honors

CLIFTON/WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – August 20, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The “Corporate Challenge” is returning for its second year to the Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain, offering companies large and small an opportunity to build camaraderie, promote fitness and support a worthy cause – all of which make good business sense. Sponsored by SaxBST, the Fourth Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain is being held on Saturday, September 12 and is an ideal atmosphere for friendly competition, team building and outdoor fun.

Teams of four can be same gender or co-ed and will compete against one another for the coveted “Fast Company” title. Registration is $72 before Sept. 7/$100 thereafter per team and companies can register more than one team. Added to last year’s race/walk, the Corporate Challenge category was established based on feedback from past participants. The Annual 4 Miler attracts runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels who come together to raise funds for the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

“In this era when businesses are focusing on employee wellness, the Corporate Challenge is an ideal opportunity to encourage their staff to ‘train’ by going for a run or brisk walk in the weeks leading up to race day,” said Stuart Berger, a SaxBST partner and founder of the firm’s Real Estate Industry Services Group. “Participating in a morning of exercise, whether it be the race or trail walk, to support the critical care St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital provides pediatric patients throughout the region on a daily basis is an added bonus.”

The 4 Miler will feature a 4-mile run on a scenic USA Track and Field Certified (USATF) double-loop race course as well as a 1.5-mile trail walk. Kids’ dashes, with distances ranging from 25 to 200 yards, will be held for youngsters ages 2 to 11. Race-day entertainment includes a DJ, random prize drawings, a variety of children’s activities and post-race refreshments. Custom technical t-shirts will be provided to participants while supplies last. Garret Mountain Reservation, a 568-acre landmark in Woodland Park, is located at 288 Rifle Camp Road.

The winning teams and individuals will receive prizes and trophies. Those interested in the Corporate Challenge can contact Bianca Madrigal at (973) 472-6250 Ext. 254 or via email at BMadrigal (at) saxbst (dot) com for more information.

Each year, SaxBST absorbs all expenses associated with the 4 Miler in order to donate 100 percent of the proceeds raised through sponsorships. The hospital’s Child Life Department is an integral component of its care by helping to relieve the stress and anxiety of pediatric patients during hospitalizations, ambulatory procedures and medication treatments.

The event, founded by one of SaxBST’s predecessor firms, Sax Macy Fromm & Co., raised about $43,000 in its inaugural year for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department. In the past two years, annual participation grew to more than 400 runners/walkers and 40 business and individual sponsors, raising more than $122,000 for the hospital’s Child Life Department.
