Officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today marked the completion of a water line extension that will provide a safe source of drinking water to 73 homes and businesses threatened by contaminated groundwater from the Combe Fill South Landfill Superfund site in Chester and Washington Townships in N.J. As a result, those homes and local businesses will no longer need treatment systems. EPA Superfund Director Walter Mugdan and Chester Township Mayor Bill Cogger marked the milestone with a toast of clean drinking water.

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, commended the final version of the Clean Power Plan released today by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Plan establishes emission guidelines for states to follow in developing plans to control carbon pollution from existing power plants. These plants are the largest source of carbon pollution in the United States, and currently they can emit unlimited quantities of carbon pollution

Continuing the Christie Administration’s efforts to encourage sustainable homeownership, the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) announced today the launch of the New Jersey HomeSaver Program (HomeSaver), a foreclosure prevention initiative. The HomeSaver program offers eligible New Jersey homeowners up to $50,000 in financial assistance to help bring their monthly household payment to an affordable level.
