“Doug has been a top producing broker in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area for the past 25 years and has completed in excess of $850 million of sales and lease transactions throughout his career. His experience will give us an added and important dimension to our existing service lines and growing clients’ needs,” said Richard Marchisio, president of Lee & Associates New Jersey.

With 25 years of experience providing industrial and office brokerage services, Gaffney comes to Lee & Associates with an impressive resume that includes the Schultz Organization, where he was senior managing director for the last decade, Trammell Crow Company as managing director and the former Edward S. Gordon Company, which later merged with CBRE.

“Lee & Associates offered me the opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial firm with New Jersey offices in Bergen and Middlesex counties. Their mix of office, industrial, medical and financial services fit well with my current client base both locally and on a national basis,” said Gaffney, who noted that he was also attracted to the firm’s broker and ownership structure, which created passive income and wealth building opportunities outside the traditional transaction business.

Gaffney’s recent track record in the office sector includes more than 300,000 square feet of Class A leasing on behalf of firms such as the Robert Half International, Investors Bank, Carroll, McNulty and Kull, and the Blume Goldfaden. On the industrial side, Gaffney represented American Van Equipment in its build-to-suit lease of 130,000 square feet and Green Distribution’s acquisition of 100,000 square feet in the Meadowlands. Notable transactions in Gaffney’s career include the leasing of more than 700,000 square feet of transactions on behalf of American Express (following the events of 9/11) the disposition of the NY Times’ 580,000-square-foot facility in Carlstadt and representation of many growing financial services firms’ space negotiation in Short Hills and Parsippany.

Gaffney earned his degree in finance at Lehigh University, attended the New York Institute of Finance and completed various commercial design courses at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
