RESIDENT INPUT HELPS THE CLUB AT AUTUMN RIDGE EXPAND ITS LIST OF ACTIVITIES

UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. – March 26, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — At least once a month, residents of The Club at Autumn Ridge in Union Township gather in the active adult community’s clubhouse for Nintendo Wii bowling, pizza and casual conversation. On other nights, they’re painting with water colors, watching movies, hosting guest speakers or getting in shape with a Zumba or Yoga class. There is something for everyone at the clubhouse, because Activities Director Barbara Karp designs the weekly and monthly schedules based on resident input.

“We pride ourselves on the vibrant, social atmosphere residents enjoy here at The Club at Autumn Ridge, and one of the ways we maintain that standard is to communicate regularly with our residents to make sure our activity schedule is meeting their needs,” said Lisa Macchi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Millennium Homes, the developer of The Club at Autumn Ridge. “Thanks to their suggestions we’ve incorporated a number of new activities, programs and day trips that appeal to a wide variety of interests.”

The Club at Autumn Ridge recently held a St. Patrick’s Day corn beef and cabbage dinner complete with games and other entertainment. Residents are also starting a community garden this spring, planning day trips to Atlantic City and planning several casual gatherings, such as bingo night, karaoke night and make your own sundae night.

New activities at Autumn Ridge often begin at the request of a few residents with a specific interest and end up growing over time. Bridge nights and water aerobics classes started based on the interests of a few enthusiasts and grew to be mainstays on the activities list. Activities are held at various times throughout the day, with many taking place in the evening to accommodate working residents.
In the summer, the pool at The Club at Autumn Ridge becomes the place to be for residents and their guests. Many spend the day relaxing in the sun. Poolside activities and cookouts are scheduled on a regular basis.

The community’s social character isn’t the only thing that makes The Club at Autumn Ridge stand out. The one-of-a-kind collection of 154 rental units offers residents who are 48 and better a maintenance-free, resort-like lifestyle and homes with beautiful interior spaces. Located in the heart of Union Township, the community offers easy access to downtown shopping and dining as well as access to The Garden State Parkway, Route 78, Route 24 and Route 22. A variety of mass transit options are also available, including trains to Newark and New York from the Union train station. The shopping of downtown Westfield and The Short Hills Mall are just a 15-minute drive away; as are the cultural destinations of The Paper Mill Playhouse and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
